My name is Skylyr VanDerveer. I was born and raised at the Jersey Shore. I was always a creative kid, taking tons of pictures on my Barbie Camera and performing in plays and musicals.

Getting involved at my high school’s student news station ignited my passion for the communications field. Ever since then, I’ve been writing, editing and designing media for various platforms.

Currently, I am a Communications Specialist at a nationwide Architecture, Engineering and Construction firm headquartered in Central New Jersey. I also freelance for several hyperlocal online news organizations across New Jersey and a local advertising and government relations firm.
